FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS

Planning for 100 girls from 7-8th grades

 

PURPOSE: 

1. Provide an Outreach Day for Middle School Girls that Educates and  Entertains. Our overall plan is to have speakers, breakout groups, crafts and entertainment that will present our purpose in different ways.   

2. To create an opportunity for this age level to become acquainted with the girls from different middle schools in Nevada County.

3.  Break Out Sessions:

     1.To acquaint the middle school girls with the higher levels of education that is available at high school, community college, and State University

     2. Nutrition presented by Sharyn Turner “Eat Your Colors”.

     3. Melissa Parrett, Nevada County Superintendent Of Schools, discussion on Safety on Internet Highway.

     4. Greg Shaver, Sierra College Instructor on Public Speaking.

     5. Bracelet making - To provide an opportunity for the girl’s to help women and girls in Africa.

          A.  By making bracelets from beads made by African women.  Story Board will be displayed explaining this program

          B.  $2.50 donation that would towards providing supplies for young girls in a school in Africa. Story Board will explain this program.
